Updated Information on Valley View WI-FI
« on: March 17, 2010, 02:06:14 PM »

As of April 16th 2010 the Wireless Network is beginning to take shape.
This week, I installed repeaters at 2016 Loker in the alley, and 2112 Bracey in the alley which should provide coverage to most of Northern end of the park.
A second gateway was also installed at 2016 Amy and all of these successfully merged with the network.
I am guessing that the existing system, as of today, will provide coverage to at least 60% of the park but this cannot be verified until users return next season.
Some areas are yet to be covered either (a) because I do not have permission to install a repeater, (b)lack of AC power for repeater or (c) there is a lack of demand for coverage in the area. This will have to be addressed next season.
Attached is a pdf file illustrating the current node locations. There are 9 active nodes but two of these are Mini-repeaters providing coverage in units with aluminum siding and/or steel roofs. This was identified as a problem early on and I will provide the Mini-repeaters to users with this issue for a $30.00 deposit which will be refundable for up to a year if returned.

The 30ft tower with repeater/gateway and Sector antenna was installed behind VV Clubhouse this weekend. It is now sucessfully interfacing with all other fixed system nodes in the network

I have just completed an additional node at 2010 Loker and added a 3rd gateway at 2105 Vernon. Currently  waiting on lot owners to return before
doing any further nodes. The network is running very well and I have just renamed all of the nodes and changed the network topoligy slightly so that users will be able to determine where their closest node is. We currently have 4 active users with three added in the last week.

Everything is still working very well and we currently have approximately 13 active users.
